The Hickman stands at the forefront of the market for smart building technology and sustainability, having achieved WiredScore Platinum and BREEAM Excellent.

Initial works started with a part-demolition and structural alterations, followed by subsequent refurbishment of the existing building to provide 75,300 sq. ft of high quality office accommodation. The project included the procurement of an enabling works (demolition) contract which achieved significant programme benefits. This package was novated to the Main Contractor who completed the remainder of the new shell construction and Cat A fit-out 9 weeks earlier with the overlap of the two contracts.

The client’s commitment to smart technology lead to the creation of a building which offers occupiers control over their office environment via a smartphone app. This system interfaces with the building’s access control and destination control systems, allowing contactless entry to the building and lifts, as well as providing data that allows occupiers to optimise their office space.

Project delivered using BIM and MEPH installations tagged to support the facilities management strategy.
