30 Broadwick Street consisted of demolishing an existing rebuild to make way for a new mixed development, featuring retail and restaurant use at ground and lower ground and commercial spaces on floors 1 to 6. The design features brick and faience cladding designed in sympathy with the local architecture on a tight corner site in the heart of Soho. HUSH were involved from project inception to drive the scheme through a challenging planning process. The project was procured on a two stage JCT Design & Build form of contract with the design having been completed to Stage 4 before novation of the design team to the contractor. Demolition has been carried out on a standalone contract direct with the client with the main contractor having an overseeing role as part of the pre-construction services they provided under the two stage procurement route. Close engagement with the supply chain has taken place to ensure keen interest in the project and ensure information for tendering purposes is complete to reduce the risk of scope slip and identify key constraints in the construction process. This helped reduce the construction risks before the works commenced on site. |
